Where our information comes from

CarrySafe is a legal-reference map made by Hoydia LLC. The government information it shows — state statutes and regulations, federal firearms licensee records used for contextual map markers, and jurisdiction boundaries — comes from the official government publishers listed on this page. The app has no customer FFL directory or dealer list.

Federal sources

State, District and territory law

Every rule CarrySafe publishes cites the statute, regulation or official agency page it came from, and the rule card in the app links that exact section. The publishers below are those sources, by jurisdiction. Some jurisdictions appear more than once because a rule rests on more than one official body — a legislature for the statute, a state police or attorney general for the record it keeps.

What this page does not claim

Listing a source does not mean every rule in that jurisdiction has been reviewed. Where our review has not finished, the app says Not reviewed — which means unknown, never permission.
A source that was accurate when we read it can change the next day. Confirm anything that matters against the official source, and speak to an attorney licensed in that state.
Some official statute sites publish law through a viewer that needs a browser to display it. Those links are correct and open normally; they simply cannot be read by an automated fetcher.
