OUR BOUNDARY
What it refuses to do
Most carry apps compete on how much they claim to know. CarrySafe is built around the opposite promise, because the cost of a confident wrong answer here is not a wasted afternoon — it is a criminal charge. None of these lines ever moves.

It never tells you that carrying somewhere is lawful
There is no green light in this app. A reviewed card tells you what a reviewer read in an official source, links you to that source, and stops. The conclusion is yours to draw, with the statute in front of you.

It never lets money buy an answer
Paying opens more of the map. It does not add a review that has not happened. States we have not reviewed stay marked “Not reviewed” on every plan, including the most expensive one.

No aggregator, no summary site, no recollection. Every published determination cites the government page or statute a reviewer actually opened, with the date they opened it.

Every status carries a word as well as a colour, because red and amber are exactly the pair a red-green colour-blind reader loses. Colour is never the only signal. Every status, with what the app speaks aloud.

Carry law is not one shape. It is a state, the counties inside it, and the mapped places inside those. CarrySafe draws each layer from real geometry and keeps each one honest about what it is.

Every county and county-equivalent outline in the state, drawn from the same files the app ships. Jurisdiction often changes at these lines, which is why the map bothers to hold them.

HOW AN ANSWER GETS ONTO THE MAP
Evidence first. Always.
If a rule cannot be read in an adequate, up-to-date and credible official source, it is not on the map. This is how an answer earns its way on.

Find
A reviewer locates the authority's own page — the statute, the published policy, the agency's own list.

Read
They read the source itself. Not a summary of it, and not a site that summarizes the summary.

Record
The finding is saved with its exact URL, what it said, and the date it was read. No source, no save — the database refuses it.

Review
An evidence gate asks whether the source is still current, monitored, and complete for this exact question. Any no fails the whole check.

Only then does it appear as an answer, source one tap away. If any step later fails, the card reverts to Not reviewed on its own.

Carry law is written and enforced by people who hold named offices, so the app keeps a seat for each of them. It draws all nine even when it can only fill some — because a blank chair you can see is honest, and a roster that quietly hides its gaps is not.

Which seats fill changes as rows are loaded, and none of these offices carries a portrait yet. No seat is ever filled by inference, and an office we cannot source stays blank. What a source has to be before we publish it.

Passed is not in effect.
A bill that passed last week may not be enforceable for months, and a feed that renders both as “new law” is how a compliant person becomes a criminal — in either direction. So every bill the app shows carries its stage and what that stage actually changes.

These are the app's own stage words, not a summary of them. Bills arrive with the outlet's name and the line “Reporting, not law” — and nothing in the feed can change what the map says. Only a reviewed rule does that.

A route is not one jurisdiction. CarrySafe cuts the planned route against state lines in travel order, names every transition, and refuses to drop short legs — because the twelve miles an interstate clips off a state on the way past is the leg many planners round away, and the one that changes what applies to you.

With Carry Mode on and CarrySafe open, the app makes best-effort nearby-place and state-boundary checks, with a separate opt-in for limited background warnings on iOS.
A warning that did not arrive is not a finding. Every limit, stated.
News, community and map context
Local posts, classes and events, with contextual FFL markers on the map where the official federal record supports one — never a customer directory or dealer list.
Partner and FFL applications happen only on the separate website portal. The rules that hold that line.
The source library
Every official page a reviewer opened, kept where you can open it too. The citation is the product; the summary is only how it is arranged.

Review dates, on the card
Every reviewed card shows when it was last read, because a determination without a date is a determination you cannot judge the age of.
When a source stops being current, the card reverts to Not reviewed on its own.

Filtering hides markers. It never changes a status, and it never turns an unknown into an answer.
